Azure Iconography is a vast landscape that includes both marketing and product needs. To help the internal marketing teams explain product scenarios, budgets, and commitments relating to the Azure product, we created the Illcon illustration library. Heavily influenced by the Fluent icon system, we adapted a swath of metaphors to be used in presentations and internal channels. Assets were built as a Figma library, fully integrated into our teammates workflow.

Development & Guidance

To make sure the system could scale and be used in multiple environments, we set up the components in a file built to grow. Styles were customized based on size of the asset, color theme, and need – either static PNG exports, or vector SVG for product environments.

Library

The full Illcon library was provided in a scale ramp from 512px–32px, in PNG and SVG formats. All elements were also supplied in light and dark themes for a range of applications.
